Magnus Nedregård

was born in Ålesund 1976, where his father was a singer and music teacher. He was trained as a violin maker at IPIALL in Cremona, Italy. Nedregård graduated from the school as the best student in his group in 2002 and received the Ferraroni scholarship. He then worked for a time for award-winning violin maker Alessandro Voltini in Cremona, before starting his own workshop in Bergen (with a grant from Innovation Norway), and then moving to Oslo from 2007.

For the past twenty years, he has worked most in the field of restoration, an interest he has elicited, among other things, through BVMA's courses at West Dean college, which put him in contact with the best communities in this field. He works with maintenance for the prestigious Dextra Musica collection, and also works with many other unique instruments from the best violin makers in history.

For him, bowed instruments are both a profession and a passion, and he therefore considers himself privileged to work in the good and vital string playing environment in Norway.
